HELP THE LORAX

Volunteers are critical to the work of the Southeast Alaska Land Trust. You allow us to devote a major portion of our funds to land conservation, keeping our effectiveness high and our costs low. Our present success is in no small part based on the generous gifts of time and energy from folks, like you, who want to do their part for Southeast Alaska.

Interested in volunteering as a Board member or on a Committee? Read more here, then please contact us at (907) 586-3100 or info@sealt.org.

Find upcoming clean-up and volunteer events here.

Have an idea of how you can help? Some skill or talent? Are you a musician, carpenter, event strategist extraordinaire? We love to co-create. Contact bailey@sealt.org.

ROVE OPEN LANDS

Want to wander the woods or water? Do you value natural areas, have a commitment and connection to Southeast Alaska, a reasonable tolerance (or enthusiasm!) for mud, rain, devil’s club, and bears? Do you yearn for a chance to reciprocate care for this awesome land — to do SOMETHING for the environment?

You’re in the right place. And we’re glad you’re here.

As a land steward, you’re a citizen scientist. You can “adopt” a conservation site. You’ll visit the conservation site several times annually, coordinating with the Stewardship Specialist to report observations.

As a Volunteer Land Steward, you’ll:

⸙ Receive training + education about SEALT’s conservation sites, as well as on-the-ground experience in real-world conservation

⸙ Reciprocate love + care with Southeast Alaska

⸙ Spend time in the natural world

⸙ Network with a rad group of dedicated Loraxes — conservation professionals and fellow land stewards across Southeast Alaska.

Ready to go? Contact Stewardship Specialist, Dan Hysell, at (907) 586-3100, or dan@sealt.org.
