Visible
along the southeastern boundary of Glacier Bay National Park stands
91-acres of coastal frontage in Excursion Inlet. Located
on a broad alluvial fan within a narrow corridor of peaks, this
parcel provides
superb wildlife habitat in forested open areas. Wildlife such as
brown bear, black bear, wolf, coyote, moose, mink, and bald eagles
have been known to frequent the area.
Donated
in February of 2001 by the estate of William Dickerson Regan, this
easement also provides
for a protective barrier surrounding historic structures and a
native cemetery. Under the terms of the easement a short path extends
from
tidewater to the cemetery to provide access for the Hoonah Tlingits.
